Inside Out, Upside Down!

1 Corinthians 1:27-29But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are,  that no flesh should glory in His presence.

Matthew 23:12 And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.

2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather boast in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

The kingdom of God is like… Jesus used this phrase when communicating truth to those to whom he was teaching.  As we look into the word we see what the kingdom is like and also many insights as to how it operates which is pretty much the opposite of the way the everyday world operates.  The kingdom of God is inside out, upside down and operates with strength and insight the temporal world does not recognize.  As we pray we need to be engaged with the unseen modes and methods.  Raw power, arrogance, pride, and the mistreatment of the innocent are all too apparent as we view the daily landscape.  Be clear that these expressions of life are in mostly in opposition to the heavenly Father and are opposed by him, and will be overcome as we pray and seek Him.

The church of Jesus Christ looks weak, powerless, and outdated in the eyes of the world.  For the most part believing people are ignored, disparaged, and increasingly persecuted.  Not to worry as we operate in a secret place under the authority and presence of an invisible God who has Chosen what seems to be foolish to shame the wise, and what seems to be weak to shame the things that are mighty. Additionally as we declare in faith the unseen things we are bringing to nothing the things that are in opposition to His kingdom.  Is it surprising that God has chosen a man in President Trump that the world works over time to despise, disparage, and is concentrated on destroying, to implement many things that have been of great benefit to those who are not powerful, wise, and often ignored?

So the purpose of this brief message of is simply that we may not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. As we humble ourselves and pray, allowing ourselves to live in a place of weakness we are operating in the place where the Father promises to release His strength and His remedies for a lost world. If the task seems too big or beyond hope we need to be reminded that greater is He who in in us than He who is in the world, and we fix our eyes on Him! Finally, most gladly therefore will I rather boast in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me!  Thank you Lord that you are a never ending source for all that we need!

Decree!

Job 22:28  You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways.

Psalm 119:89 Forever, O Lord, Your word [is settled in heaven.

Psalm 103:20 Praise the Lord, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word.

Luke 10:19-20 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.  Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

Esther 8:8 Now write another decree in the king’s name in behalf of the Jews as seems best to you, and seal it with the king’s signet ring—for no document written in the king’s name and sealed with his ring can be revoked.”

Decree:a statement of truth that carries the authority of a court order. Decrees are a tool by which we cause the truths of the heavenly realm to become manifest into the natural realm so they become our daily reality. We decree healing when we are sick. We decree provision and abundance when we are lacking. We decree peace when there is turmoil. Decrees are a tool to fulfill Matthew 6:10: “Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on earth, as it is in heaven” (KJV). Decrees manifest heaven on earth!

As sons and daughters of the living God we have been given authority.  We exercise that authority as we pray.  We seek Him because He is our loving Father and in Him are all of the answers.  We cry out to Him as we see the waywardness of the world in which we live.  As we live and walk on the earth we are living conduits of your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  In the midst of crazy life we declare and decree His word.

As the word is alive and burning in us we declare it.  We know that the word the Father has sent will not return to Him without performing that for which is it was sent. We cooperate with the effectiveness and power of His word as we declare and decree.  Abiding in Him we sense the objective and release the word.  A few years ago we meet a senior intercessor whose life had taken a difficult turn, and so for a season we became an important part of her family.  She relayed to us the story of how a massage parlor (front for prostitution) was attempting to open in the little town near where we lived.  As soon as she caught wind of the business she began making daily trips to Main Street where she placed her hand on the door of their future location, decreeing the business closed.  She did this for a number of weeks and the business never opened! Soon any sign of the future massage parlor disappeared.

The authority has been given to us and it is time for the word to be declared and decreed over the U.S., over local government, and as the antidote to lawlessness, drugs, death, abortion and in all other areas. Today is the day and now is the time!

The Tuff Stuff!

John 8:1-11 But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.  Now [a]early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them. Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, they said to Him, “Teacher,]this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. Now [c]Moses, in the law, commanded us [d]that such should be stoned. But what do You [e]say?” This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, [f]as though He did not hear. So when they continued asking Him, He [g]raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first. ”And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. Then those who heard it, beingconvicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had raised Himself up [i]and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”  She said, “No one, Lord. ”And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go [k]and sin no more.”

In 1968 an obscure band by the name of “The Street People” released a song that actually got some significant air play called “Jennifer Tompkins”.  At this writing I can’t actually remember the song beyond the chorus which contains the following lyrics:

Oh, I swear, just ain’t fair
Trouble, trouble everywhere
Oh Lord, come on down
Got to spread some love around

In 2019 the song is even more prophetic in describing the times in which we live than it was when initially released.  Intercessors arise, watchmen be faithful to your place on the walls!  Where sin abounds the Father’s desire is that grace abound much more. Abortion, homosexuality, corruption, epidemic drug use, violence, lawlessness and the list goes on, how do we pray? What do we do with the tough stuff?

In John chapter 8 we see the account of the woman caught in the act of adultery. The response of our Lord to the attempt of the Pharisees and the scribes to discredit him gives us a deep look into the heart of the Father. First let’s look at what Jesus didn’t do which includes, no accusation, no picking up of rocks, and no condemnation.  Instead what did He do?  He wrote unknown words in the sand and gave the accusers a chance to vent.  As they continued to press him he turned the sin problem back to them and challenged whoever was without sin to throw the first stone. Conviction began to well up in the hearts of the accusers and one by one they withdrew from the woman.  Throughout the encounter Jesus stayed with the woman, remaining with one who needed forgiveness.  Finally, he asked the woman where her accusers were, and has no one condemned you?  When she replied “no one Lord”, he stated that neither did he condemn her and to go and sin no more.

This passage of scripture begins with, but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives, where we know from the word he often spend the night in prayer.  As He was in close heart to heart communion with His Father it seems likely that the Father may have revealed the early morning encounter, but whether Jesus foresaw what was about to take place it is clear that His heart was totally full of the Father’s heart towards this woman.  Bingo, this is so needed as we pray!  We must have our hearts softened by our encounters with the Father so we not only cooperate with praying His will, but we also cooperate with praying with His heart. Not validating the sin, but extending the same mercy to the sinner that we needed when the Father picked us up out of our brokenness and changed our path of destruction to the eternal road of His plans destiny. May we receive more of His heart in every way so we are ready for encountering the tough stuff!

Big God!

Revelation 19:6-8 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the[d] Lord God Omnipotent reigns! Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.

Psalm 99:1-3 The Lord reigns; Let the peoples tremble! He dwells between the cherubim; Let the earth be [a]moved!  The Lord is great in Zion, And He is high above all the peoples. Let them praise Your great and awesome name—]He is holy.

When our Father seems too small it is time to worship Him. Many of us over the years have praised the Lord with many different songs.  An old favorite of mine is “Be Magnified” The words to this song by Don Moen are as follows:

I have made you too small, in my eyes

O Lord, forgive me

And I’ve believed in a lie
That you were unable to help me.
But now O Lord, I see my wrong
Heal my heart and show yourself strong
And in my eyes, and with my song
O Lord, be magnified
O Lord, be magnified.
Be magnified O Lord,
You are highly exalted
And there is nothing you can’t do
O Lord, my eyes are on you, be magnified,
O lord be magnified, O Lord be magnified
I have leaned on the wisdom of men
O Lord, forgive me
And I have responded to them
Instead of your light and your mercy
But now, O Lord, I see my wrong
Heal My Heart and show yourself strong
And in my eyes and with my song

O Lord, be magnified

Worship brings us into God’s presence and the greatness of who he is.  As we rest in this place we are renewed in who He is. We are re-established in the knowledge that He is in control. Each day seems to be a noisy confrontation between what is good – something we should affirm and what is evil, worthless – to be set aside. The intensity of it can be disheartening, but in His presence there is fullness of joy, and we need to have our joy and delight in serving Him renewed. Hanging around in His presence helps us to know He is a big God and nothing is out of His view or His control.

As we worship we are also declaring His word into the heavenlies, and into situations that we may not see clearly, or even recognize at all.  Worship opens our hearts and softness the ground so that we are more tender and able to hear Him speak.  It is place where faith is heard, received, and established in our hearts. He is a big God who wants to give us breakthrough. Yes, His glorious breakthrough in the difficult areas of life, breakthrough and revelation of who He is in every mountain of society. He is God and He is really, really BIG!

Build the Wall part II

Ezekiel 22:30 So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.

Isaiah 53:15 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Walls hold in, they preserve, and walls hold out things that are not desired in an area that is being protected. The walls we are building are doing both. We are declaring hedges of protection for our nation and for the people who lives within the physical territory that makes up the United States.  Our intercession is building and will exceed the forces of evil from without that desire to exert negative influence and/or even bring destruction on the nation. The walls of intercession also rise up and are strengthening in the hour where as it says in Jonah 4:11 “people who cannot tell their right hand from their left.”  We stand in a place of crying out for mercy as people within the walls foolishly pursue evil and oppose God. This will cause us at times to feel we are down in the mud actually forming the bricks being added to the wall.  Sin will cause us to grieve and even groan in pain as we bow before the one who patiently waits for us to call upon Him for help!

Simultaneously we have a great intercessor who is continually making intercession on our behalf. We remember and declare His GREAT mercy!  Even as He poured out His life, He interceded for all mankind “forgive them Father for they know not what they do”, and His very blood continually cries out mercy!  We plead the blood as we look to Him for mercy and the power of the good news to again be released into hearts prepared to receive the gift of eternal life.  We do not lose heart!  We do not give up! We keep our eyes continually on the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The needs in this hour are great, yet the power available to do the work is much greater than we yet know!

Build the Wall!

Hebrews 11:1-3 Now faith is the [a]substance of things hoped for, the [b]evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.  By faith we understand that the [c]worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

Zechariah 2:5  For I,’ says the Lord, ‘will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.’ ”

By faith we understand that the [c]worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. At this writing there is great disturbance and unrest in the nation concerning building a wall.  Is it possible that in the unseen there is also disturbance, stirrings, activity and things are not at rest?  Is it possible in the midst of the war of words, that there are words that are to be spoken, but not words that tear down, but words that build up?  Is it probable in the midst of arguing over a natural wall there is indeed a wall to built?  Is it likely that the wall has been under construction for some time and that you and I and many others are the builders?  Maybe at this moment you are thinking wow, so many questions. and so, to simplify things and in response to all of the above the answer is simply yes!  This is another moment when ae eyes must be focused in the spirit and much less on the natural.

There is a wall to be built in the spirit and also in the natural. I will not be developing reasons for the natural wall.  Let’s focus on the unseen wall. 1. The prayer wall around the United States must become more robust and become a source of great protection as the spirit shifts and we begin to see the answer for our cries before the Lord of 2 Chronicles 7:14. I have heard it said that 2019 is the year of the “watchman”.  Let’s take that proclamation to heart and be more diligent standing watch on the wall.  2. As the wall is strengthened in the spirit and grows in height our discernment and vison will also grow. As watchman we will become more sensitive and quick to respond in a crisis, and even better before the crisis ever happens.  3. The wall of truth must be strengthened and truth declared continually over the nation as the false, deceptive and perverse are being exalted.  In the spirit we are the bold declarers of the truth, and when the truth encounters the false, the false will wilt.  Behind the scenes we are also praying for the hearts and minds of all people who are being slimed and deceived by the phony narratives. 4. The wall contains eternal truth and principles.  Anywhere that false principles are being promoted the wall must be strengthened.  The strength of the prayer wall must impact the life that is protected and taking place within the safety of the wall. Media, government, and all areas of life will be impacted by the prayer of faithful watchman diligently serving at the wall, and more and more the Almighty will himself permeate the atmosphere!

I am Doing a New Thing!

Isaiah 43:18-20 Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!  Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen,

Lamentations 3:22-24 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”

Psalm 103: 1-5 Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!  Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:  Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,  Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,  Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

W elcome to the New Year! Thank you Lord that each day we get a new start, and the New Year also marks a time for making new beginnings. It is time to throw away any trash we may have accumulated by the end of 2018 and to submit our lives completely to the one who is able to cleanse redeem, and restore us. The good news as we make a new beginning is that our Father never changes.  The season my change, the opinions and whims of people may change, but our Father changes not.

In the transition from the old into the new let’s trust that the Lord it able to completely re-new our hearts.  He is ready to pour out new wine and He will make us new wine skins to receive ALL that He is releasing. (Mark 2:19-22). Now is the time to be renewed!  Probably some of you have already been spending extra time sitting at Jesus feet. It is likely that you may also be receiving specific revelation and instructions for prayer in this New Year.  Absolutely listen and obey whatever He is saying, but also allow your self adequate time to let the newness that He desires to fill us with be released into your inner man.  Allow the Lord to completely power wash away disappointment, discouragement, disillusionment, and any hurts.  It’s time to have your bible open in His presence and He will faithfully to pour in new fuel, fresh oil, and heavenly fire, or simply the new wine vintage 2019!  We must be in the place of abiding and receiving so we are ready for the giving and the praying.

The carrying power to see things through comes continually from our Father.  We must be transformed so that we have our hearts filled with “yes God”, and the idea of giving up or surrendering in the battle is no longer an option. My the fresh wind of heaven blow on your heart! Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!  Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen.  If the beginning of 2019 finds you hungry and thirsty, now if the time to be filled with living water- the wine of heaven and with the food that only the Father can give! Bless the Lord and forget not ALL of His benefits!
