Arise, Shine! - From Graham Chapman

Isiah 60:1 Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.

2 Corinthians 3:18 So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord--who is the Spirit--makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

Each day we have the opportunity to celebrate the victory of the cross of Christ, and to live in that victory. The word of God makes it clear that we are being changed-we are being transformed more and more in His glory. When I was a boy, I had a fascination with glow in the dark toys and glow sticks. It always seemed cool to have a piece of plastic that was imparted with a substance that would make it glow. Most of the toys needed to be set near a light for a period of time to absorb the light causing it to glow brightly at first and the slowly fade until brought near again to the light. The word also makes it clear that an important part of our calling in the Earth is to be salt and light. His strong word in our hearts causes us to be salty and His very presence and glory on us causes us to glow. As the dark grows darker the light will grow brighter! We will glow!
As we pray and worship we abide in Him. There is no substitute for spending time with the Lord. Our hunger for him is increasing and there is no other way to be satisfied but in Him. As we draw into Him we will receive answers we do not yet have, provision that will fill our need and the needs of others, peace like a river, and increased confidence as sons and daughters of our Father’s infinite goodness. In Him we live and move and have our being. In him there is no darkness, and there will no longer be any darkness in us. Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you!
