Each of us must choose to look at law, liberty, and governance through one of two very different philosophical worldviews. Do we discover law from an inviolable objective standard revealed in Divine/Natural Law? Or do we make up as we go, using a morally-relative, secular-progressive subjectivity?
Under the first approach to governance, truth exists, and it matters to God. Good and bad, right and wrong, just and unjust have objective reality. Conversely, under the second approach, truth does not exist, except as those in power deem it so. There is no good and bad, right and wrong, just and unjust – except as those in power deem it so.
Dangerous implications for good governance exist when a nation rejects objectivist truth for subjectivist moral relativism. While government systems vary from country to country, the battle for Truth and the rule of law is the same. Those defying the living God have a global strategy, we must as well. We equip the Church, therefore, to engage and lead institutions with integrity.
God is moving greatly among His people around the world. For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord… plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. As we help equip our Christian brothers and sisters and pastors please keep these faithful followers of Christ in your prayers as they engage their cultures for the glory of God.
