The sacredness of property, and the proper stewardship of it, is apparent throughout the Bible. This First Principle informs government laws prohibiting and punishing theft, robbery, insider trading, embezzlement, etc.

Treasures gained by wickedness do not profit, but righteousness delivers from death.

- Proverbs 10:2

One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.

- Proverbs 11:24

Prepare your work outside; get everything ready for yourself in the field, and after that build your home.

- Proverbs 24:27

The sacredness of property, and the proper stewardship of it, is apparent throughout the Bible.

This First Principle informs government laws prohibiting and punishing theft, robbery, insider trading, embezzlement, etc. Likewise, the First Principle here informs government laws articulating fiduciary responsibilities. They also should inform our personal conduct in all matters involving property and our stewardship of it.
