Lawlessness and Lies in Pursuit of Socialism

It is astonishing to see how quickly law and order has disintegrated in many cities around the country, and how little is being done to respond to this lawlessness. The attacks on the police and the failure of local and state governments to maintain order is inexcusable. What about the devastation and economic ruin to all the families and small businesses caused by these criminal rioters?

This has nothing to do with the tragic death of George Floyd. What happened to him is reprehensible, and those police officers are being held accountable. But the resulting rioting, destruction, and tearing down of statues bears no relationship to Mr. Floyd’s wrongful killing. What happened to him has been universally condemned by everyone I know. However, mobs of young people of all races are looting and destroying minority-owned businesses, and are tearing down numerous monuments that actually honor those who fought against slavery and injustice! This is a direct assault on our American history, culture and way of life.  Do you support:

1. A movement whose leaders openly boast about being trained Marxists who want to overthrow our government and way of life? As reported in the Daily Signal (June 25, 2020) Patrisse Khan-Cullors is one of the co-founders of BLM who stated, “We actually do have an ideological frame. (We) are trained organizers. We are trained Marxists.”

2. A movement that has a goal to “disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure”? They want to destroy the nuclear family and have children raised by the “village” – really? Yeah, that has worked very well in China, Russia, Cuba and other socialist utopias. I do not know about you, but I will fight any attempt to tear apart my family and have my children and grandchildren raised by a state collective controlled by “comrades” who think like this. I use the word “comrades” not as a pejorative, but rather to point out that BLM continually uses this word to describe themselves. BLM’s use of this word is instructive. Listen to what they are actually saying. All sane and rational people of good will of all races want racial equality and peace, but BLM’s actions and goals promote the opposite.

3. A movement that openly states, “We foster a queer‐affirming network. When we gather, we do so with the intention of freeing ourselves from the tight grip of heteronormative thinking…” And they further state they want to “dismantle cisgender privilege and uplift Black trans folk, especially Black trans women…” So they apparently support having biologically intact men taking showers with teenage girls, and using the women’s locker rooms and restrooms, and taking away athletic opportunities and scholarships for women. Is this what you support?

4. A movement that opposes Capitalism? As reported in Newsweek, (11/28/17) BLM leaders say it’s time for people to “resist white capitalism.” “We say ‘white capitalism’ because it’s important that we understand that the economic system and the racial structures are connected,” said Melina Abdullah, a BLM leader who is a professor at California State University, Los Angeles (CSU-LA), during her weekly radio show, Beautiful Struggle. “We have to not only disrupt the systems of policing that literally kill our people, but we have to disrupt the white supremacist, capitalistic, patriarchal, heteronormative system.” Tony Ratcliff, another BLM leader, who is also a professor at CSU-LA, stated: “We have to have vitriol or hatred against capitalism … (and) until we start to see capitalism is just as nefarious as white supremacy, we will always be struggling.”

They desire to overturn our economic system for what, a socialist, government-controlled economy? This is ridiculous! We must stand up and not be afraid to oppose such radical thinking. Our economic system is the envy of the world, and it is why millions of people try to come here to start a new life. Capitalism is not white, black, brown or any color. It creates opportunities for everyone who is willing to work hard and is not looking for a government handout.

5. Antifa is a more loosely affiliated organization that uses violence in the name of opposing so-called fascists, i.e., normal Americans. The Anti-Defamation League (adl.org) states, “While some antifa use their fists, other violent tactics include throwing projectiles, including bricks, crowbars, homemade slingshots, metal chains, water bottles, and balloons filled with urine and feces. They have deployed noxious gases, pushed through police barricades, and attempted to exploit any perceived weakness in law enforcement presence. Away from rallies, they also engage in “doxxing,” exposing their adversaries’ identities, addresses, jobs and other private information. This can lead to their opponents being harassed or losing their jobs, among other consequences.  There are other statements by BLM at its web site which all can agree with, like “We acknowledge, respect, and celebrate differences and commonalities.” And “We intentionally build and nurture a beloved community that is bonded together through a beautiful struggle that is restorative, not depleting.”

However, their actions belie such affirming statements. I guess when BLM protested in St. Paul, Minnesota, chanting “Pigs in a blanket, Fry ’em like bacon” or a chant at a New York City protest, “What do we want? Dead cops. When do we want it? Now,” they really were just trying to be respectful, and were celebrating the differences they have with the police.

BLM further states on its site, “We practice empathy. We engage comrades with the intent to learn about and connect with their contexts.” Really? Again, their actions say otherwise. Some will claim most of the protestors were peaceful, and did not participate in the violence, destruction, and rioting. That is all well and good, yet it is clear that these groups’ words and actions support the actions being taken. Just read their own words, and look at what they do. Peaceful protesting is fine, and I will and have defended the right of anyone to do so, but when lawlessness, destruction, and rioting is encouraged, those who participate in such criminal activity need to be arrested, prosecuted and stopped.

Would BLM or Antifa defend my right to protest? The answer is obvious. If you do not kneel before them, they will attack and try to destroy you. Look at the most recent example as reported in the Western Journal (westernjournal.com): BLM caused a family restaurant in Omaha, Nebraska, to close its doors after 44 years because the menu had a dish named after Robert E. Lee and because the owner had spoken out against the rioting. The local BLM leader allegedly tried to extort protection money from the owner. After two days of threats and uproar, the family closed its doors. This is how the progressive left mob operates.

Who pays for groups like BLM and Antifa? As reported in the Daily Signal, one of the biggest financial contributors is an organization called “Thousand Currents,” a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Some of the corporations who have contributed millions of dollars to this and other progressive organizations (and thus can write off their “charitable” contributions), or have given directly to BLM, include the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, Airbnb, Spanx, and the George Soros-backed Open Society Foundation, among others.

I am more than willing to dialogue with anyone, just not at the point of a pitchfork wielded by a mob. No country is perfect. All of us are fallen human beings in need of God’s grace and salvation. We can always do better. But show me a country in human history that has provided more freedom and opportunity for people of all nationalities than ours.
Free speech and the right to be heard without being attacked by the mob is under assault. There is no tolerance from these so-called “social justice warriors.” We must stand up before our rights are gone. These attacks will not end here. They will not go away on their own.

Self-proclaimed racial justice activist Shaun King stated recently, “All murals and stained glass windows of white Jesus, and his European mother, and their white friends should also come down. They are a gross form of white supremacy. Created as tools of suppression. Racist propaganda. They should all come down.” This is not hyperbole. They mean it.

During World War II, German Pastor Martin Niemoller famously stated:

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

Do you agree with the stated goals of BLM, Antifa and the other progressive groups that want to “transform America”? Will you sit by silently at such a time as this until there is no one left to speak up for you? It is past time for all true peace-loving Americans to non-violently stand up and speak out.
Do not be afraid to speak the truth. Do not be afraid to stand. Do not be afraid of the mob.
