On November 6th, 2025, friends and supporters of Salt & Light Global gathered for our annual benefit, Possessing the Promise, to give thanks for all the Lord is doing through this ministry—and to celebrate a remarkable milestone: Professor William Wagner’s 40 years of faithful legal service to God’s Kingdom. The evening began with a warm welcome from Pastor Andy Shaver, setting the tone with prayer and worship. Together, we reflected on God’s faithfulness and the promise He calls each of us to possess—the promise of liberty rooted in Truth.
A special video tribute followed, Celebrating 40 Years of Faithful Service, highlighting Professor Wagner’s journey from the Michigan Senate to the U.S. Department of Justice, to international missions rebuilding justice systems, and finally to leading Salt & Light Global in equipping believers to stand boldly for Truth in every sphere of culture.
Katherine Bussard, SLG’s Executive Director and COO, shared a powerful Ministry Praise Report, recounting how—through the faithful prayers and partnership of supporters—SLG continues to defend the cause of justice, equip the Body of Christ, and proclaim biblical Truth in the public square.
Representative Gina Johnsen and Congressman Tom Barrett each presented special recognitions honoring Professor Wagner’s lifetime of service and unwavering commitment to advancing good governance under the rule of law. Their words were a reminder of the profound impact one faithful servant can make when guided by conviction and courage.
Professor Wagner then shared heartfelt remarks, giving thanks to the Lord for His guidance over four decades of ministry and legal service. His testimony was both a reflection and a charge—to continue standing firm in Truth, even in the face of great cultural challenge.
The keynote address by Minister Don Eason inspired attendees to “possess the promise” with faith, obedience, and courage, urging believers to step forward into the mission field God has already prepared.
The evening concluded with an Invitation to Give by Mary Grace Braatz, reminding everyone that this mission continues only through the generosity and partnership of faithful supporters.
Together, we celebrated God’s faithfulness, honored a life of obedience, and looked ahead with renewed purpose. As we press on toward the promise, may we each remain steadfast—shining the light of Truth, restoring good governance under the rule of law, and preserving the blessings of liberty for generations to come.
To God be the glory!
