In remembrances of children dying, activists placed thousands of shoes on the White House lawn last week. These children died when evil people shot them. Although the data and reporting lacked accuracy, my heart goes out to all victims of violence. We are, quite properly, in the midst of a debate over the best way to prevent atrocities against children. When we do so though, let us not ignore the most vulnerable.
Over 60 million children died violently in the U.S. since the Supreme Court case of Roe v. Wade. These children died when doctors callously killed them in the womb, as part of their stock-in-trade. Perhaps it is time to debate whether our nation should ban the clinical instruments of this violence. Instruments used in a procedure so vile and painful that they cannot be discussed here.
The Constitution Rights at Issue
As a matter of Constitutional law, let us season the public dialog with some truth. Those advocating for the Second amendment right to bear arms, fight to preserve the right to protect themselves and others – like those for whom the shoes represent. Those advocating for Roe’s judge-made right of personal autonomy, advocate for the right to have a physician kill their unborn son or daughter.
What Laws can Save Children from Violent Death
Chicago has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the world. These laws have not prevented evil people from shooting innocent children in the Windy City. Laws restricting physicians from killing unborn sons and daughters will, however, save millions of children from violent death. At the very least, it is time Congress stop using taxpayer dollars to fund Planned Parenthood. Their doctors annually kill over 300,000 unborn children. And lest we forget, Planned Parenthood got caught callously selling aborted baby parts for profit. It is time to end the violence, and the money that funds it.
According to a report last week, an abortionist says she does not hear the unborn scream, while admitting she cuts “the cord 1st so there’s really no opportunity, if they’re even far enough along to have a larynx.”
In remembrance of the silent screams, what would happen if those supporting the dignity of human life sent 60 million pairs of baby shoes to our nation’s Capital?
