With your prayers, Salt & Light Global’s Academy reached more people than ever for our Lord. Along the way we joyfully equipped the body of Christ to take the heart of Jesus to the culture. Many people from many places participated and attended our 2020 courses and seminars. With deep appreciation to all of you, here is an overview of God at work this year at SLG’s Academy.

Academy

I. The Gospel and the Culture

In this four week course we studied how to wisely and strategically respond to issues in the culture. Prof. William Wagner and Pastor Gary Page equipped Covid-capacity crowds to engage the culture. Together we studied how the Gospel informs us on issues relating to: Poverty; Abortion; Orphans; Widows; Sex Slavery; Marriage; Sexual Morality; Ethnicity; Religious Liberty; Reaching the Unreached

II. The Reason for God

Keldon Scott led a six week summer apologetics course using Tim Keller’s video series, The Reason for God. Together we learned how to answer tough questions like: 

• 1. Isn’t the Bible a Myth?
• 2. How Can You Say There Is Only One Way to God? 3. What Gives You the Right to Tell Me How to Live My Life?
• 4. Why Does God Allow Suffering?
• 5. Why Is the Church Responsible for So Much Injustice?
• 6. How Can God Be Full of Love and Wrath at the Same Time?

III. Passing the Flame of Liberty

In this super successful six week online series on the Michigan Constitution, Prof. William Wagner covered the following topics:

• Structure & Power: The Michigan Constitution, We the People!
• Good Governance: Michigan Locked Down
• Relevance of Judicial Selection and Elections
• Leadership under the Constitution: Truth Matters
• Constitutional Competency: Teaching the Next Generation
• Persuasion Points: Engage Citizens to Talk about Constitutional Governance

IV. Because Jesus Lived

SLG held this spectacular outdoor conference at the Historic Withee Family Farm. A capacity crowd learned how Christian people throughout time impacted the culture in powerful ways … and how we can answer God’s call to positively do so today!

V. Why Pain & Suffering

Many attended this weekly online series, Why Pain and Suffering? Led by Keldon Scott, with RZIM ministries materials, we answered the hardest questions. 

VI. The Words of God

In this four week series Prof. Wagner taught about about: the authenticity of the God’s Word, how to guard and contend for it, and what God says about teaching it to others and applying it to the way we live.
