“Trust in the LORD and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Delight yourself in the LORD; and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do it…” (Isaiah 61:1)
The dictionary defines delight as a “strong feeling of happiness; great pleasure or satisfaction; something that makes you very happy; something that gives you great pleasure or satisfaction.” As we pray, we need to be dwelling in the place of “delight in the Lord”. As we pray and believe Him for His purposes to be established, let us always make our highest purpose to be established in Him! Psalm 28:7 reads, “The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.” At all times He is our rock, our sure foundation and our great joy! Let our delight be in Him! Let us delight together in:
- Christ (His life, death, and resurrection): What a marvelous gift You are to us, Jesus! We stand in awe of You – Your life, death, and resurrection! We sing praises to Your Holy Name and shout thanksgiving to You. You deserve all we have to give, and we freely give it to You. May You be honored and glorified now and forevermore.
- The Holy Spirit’s Presence: We are wondrously blessed to be allowed in Your presence, Holy Spirit! Oh, how amazing it is to have You dwelling in us. Words cannot convey the joy and gratitude we have at feeling You near. May we never grieve You, but instead follow Your every leaning and obediently serve You in love.
- Our Redemption: What more could we desire than to be in right relationship with You, O God? There is no greater joy in life than to be walking closely with You. Thank You for making it possible. Thank You for bringing us into Your family. May we never grow complacent toward You or Your Word. May we abide more and more in You.
