Psalm 40: 1-10 —I

I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me, and heard my cry.

He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth—Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the Lord. Blessed is that man who Makes the Lord his trust, And does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works Which You have done;
And Your thoughts toward us Cannot be recounted to You in order; If I would declare and speak of them, They are more than can be numbered. Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; My ears You have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require.

Then I said, “Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me.
I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart. ”I have proclaimed the good news of righteousness In the great assembly; Indeed, I do not restrain my lips,

O Lord, You Yourself know. I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth From the great assembly.

It’s Easter! Thank you Father that because of the work of the cross, it is finished, and the heaviest lifting ever accomplished has been done once and for all, for ALL of mankind. It is finished.

May you be encouraged by some simple insights from Psalm 40:

I waited patiently for the Lord, and he inclined to me, and heard my cry. Think of it. As we wait patiently before the Lord, He inclines His ear towards us and hears our cry. Your prayer time is precious. He is listening as your cry out.
He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth—Praise to our God. Wow, did the Lord ever do it. Most people I know were not in a good place when the Lord saved them. Stuck in the miry clay is a good description, and then He saved us, and instantly we were delivered from the muck and set upon the rock. He began to establish our steps, the defeat and despair of our hearts was changed into a new song, and our desire was to praise Him! Here is a pattern of prayer for the day and hour in which we live, coupled with 2 Chronicles 7:14
And Your thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to You in order; If I would declare and speak of them, They are more than can be numbered. Doesn’t this simply blow you away that our heavenly Father is thinking of us all the time. He was thinking of us before our day of rescue and has us in His thoughts every moment of every day. May our thoughts of SALVATION be turned into prayer for this day and hour!
Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; My ears You have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require.Then I said, “Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me.I delight to do Your will. In these verses we totally see Jesus. We know that it was never burnt and sin offerings that were the desire of our Father, and it was only our Daddy who accomplish what needed to be done. It was always Jesus and it’s still Jesus, and forever it will be Jesus. His delight was to do the will of the Father. May our delight also be to do His will!
”I have proclaimed the good news of righteousness In the great assembly; Indeed, I do not restrain my lips, O Lord, You Yourself know. I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth From the great assembly. We know the GOODNESS of His salvation. May the goodness of our Father be in our thoughts, in our hearts and over flowing from our mouths. May we never hide it!
