Equipping the Body of Christ to Engage the Culture

SLG’s Academy equips the Church to take the heart of Jesus to the culture and speak of Him in the public square.  Here is some information about our upcoming training:

The Gospel and the Culture 

For Christ’s Love Compels Us

In this four week course we study how to wisely and strategically respond to issues in the culture. Prof. William Wagner and other special guest speakers equip you to engage using David Platt’s book, Counter Culture.  Together we study how the Gospel informs us on issues relating to:

  • Poverty
  • Abortion
  • Orphans and Widows
  • Sex Slavery
  • Marriage
  • Sexual Morality
  • Ethnicity
  • Religious Liberty
  • Reaching the Unreached

Summer Apologetics – The Reason for God

Keldon Scott leads this six week summer apologetics course using Tim Keller’s video series, The Reason for God. Together we learn how to answer tough questions like: 

  1. Isn’t the Bible a Myth?
  2. How Can You Say There Is Only One Way to God?
  3. What Gives You the Right to Tell Me How to Live My Life?
  4. Why Does God Allow Suffering?
  5. Why Is the Church Responsible for So Much Injustice?
  6. How Can God Be Full of Love and Wrath at the Same Time?

You do not have to have been at the prior gatherings to participate.
